UK: Tonight! "Eurovision: You Decide 2017" - National Final

BBC, British broadcaster, will find out tonight who will represent the United Kingdom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. There are six candidates in the battle to get the ticket for representing UK in Eurovision 2017 this year in "Eurovision: You Decide 2017".

The show will be hosted by Mel Giedroyc. Special guests are The Vamps and Alexander Rybak, winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2009.

Joe & Jake won "Eurovision: You Decide 2016" and represented United Kingdrom at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm with "You're Not Alone". They ended on a dissapointing 24th place with only 62 points.

Iceland: RUV announced 12 candidates for "Söngvakeppnin 2017"

Icelandic broadcaster RUV announced some days ago 12 candidates for their national selection of "Söngvakeppnin 2017". There are two semi-finals, followed by the national final on 11th March 2017. The songs have been recorded in Icelandic and English. The shows will be hosted by  Ragnhildur Steinunn Jónsdóttir.

In each semi-final six acts will perform to get one of three tickets to the final. All songs must be performed in Icelandic in the semi-finals. In total six acts will fight for the ticket to Kyiv in the national final on 11th March 2017.

The ticket sale starts on 1st February 2017.

Nino de Angelo represented Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest 1989. His song "Flieger" ended on 14th place in the Eurovision final with 46 points. Do you remember his entry?

After participating in the German version of Promi Big Brother 2015 (#3) he is now back with his new single "Solange mein Herz noch schlägt" from his forthcoming album "Liebe für immer".

Finland: Exclusive! Interview with Knucklebone Oscar & The Shangri-La Rubies "'Cavemen' is about letting go and just giving in to the music and dance however you want to"

Knucklebone Oscar & The Shangri-La Rubies are one of the finalists for "UMK 2017" with their  song "Cavemen". They will participate in the Finnish national final of "UMK 2017" on 28th January 2017.

Moldova: 14 candidates for "O Melodie Pentru Europa"

TRM, Moldovan broadcaster, announced on 21st January 2017 14 candidates for the national selection of "O Melodie Pentru Europa 2017". They will perform on 24th February 2017 in the semi-final to get one of eight tickets for the national final on 25th February 2017. The winner will be chosen mixed by jury and public voting.

In the list we find some well known name. Sunstroke Project have already represented Moldova at the Eurovision Song Contest 2010 with the song "Run Away". Two years ago they tried to return to Eurovision with DJ Michael Ra and the song "Day After Day", as they participated in the Moldovan national final of "O Melodie Pentru Europa 2015". In the same year also participated Diana Brescan with the song "Up and Down". In the 2016 edition was part with "Till The End". Now she is back in the national selection with "Breath".

Last year in May represented Lithuanian singer Donny Montell his country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. His song "I've Been Waiting For This Night" ended on 9th place in the Eurovision final. It was the second Eurovision participation for Donny, already in 2012 he was part of Eurovision with "Love Is Blind".

Some month after Eurovision released Donny Montell his new single called "Screw Me Up". Last week he premiered the official video of the song.

Latvia: 22 candidates for "Supernova 2017"

During a press conference announced LTV, Latvian broadcaster, on 13th January 2017 22 candidates for this years national selection "Supernova 2017". The national final takes place on 26th February 2017 in Riga. In two heats and a semi-final four candidates will be selected for the next round. Two of them chosen by the audience and two more from a jury panel. The winner will be chosen via 100% public voting.

Denmark: 10 candidates for "Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017"

Danish broadcaster DR announced today 10 hopefuls for their national selection "Dansk Melodi Grand Prix 2017". The show will be hosted by Johannes Nymark (former Lighthouse X) and Annette Heick. The national final takes place on 25th February 2017 in Jyske Bank Boxen in Hersing.

LRT, Lithuanian broadcaster, announced 51 contestants for their national selection "Eurovizijos 2017". The second pre-recorded show will be aired tonight and continues the long way for Lithuania to find the contestant for the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Kyiv. Hungary: Tonight! "A Dal 2017" - Heat 1

Hungarian broadcaster MTVA revealed 30 candidates for the national selection "A Dal 2017". The national selection kicks off tonight with the first heat. 10 candidates are in the battle to get one of six tickets to the next round. Five of them will be selected by the jury. The last ticket will be chosen from the audience.

Frans won Melodifestivalen 2016 and represented Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2016 in Stockholm. His song "If I Were Sorry" ended on 5th place in the Eurovision final.

The winner of "Melodifestivalen 2017" will participate in one of the semi-finals on 9th or 11th May 2017 in Kiev. Who will represent Sweden at the Eurovision Song Contest 2017 in Ukraine?

Latvia: Aminata is part of "Moomins at Christmas" with "Ziema, nāc!"

It was Aminata who represented Latvia at the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with "Love Injected" (#6) and wrote "Heartbeat" (#15) for Justs, who represented Latvia in Eurovision 2016 in Stockholm.

After releasing the follow-up singles "Bridges" and "Fighter" her second album "Red Moon" is out since October 2016.

Aminata is now part of the internationl project for the "Moomins at Christmas" movie , which is based on Tove Jansson’s books. The song "Bring The Snow" is written by Finnish musician and performer Paula Vesala, composed by Jori Sjöroos orchestral arranged by Jussi Vahvaselkä. The song is performed by the City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra and sung and recorded in 23 different languages. Each international version of the song features lead vocals by different recording artists from around the world. The Latvian version "Ziema, nāc!" is sung by Aminata and sounds like this...
